A beautifully decorated house or flat is the dream of all. This is where we find peace and happiness after a hectic day. Isn’t it? During this pandemic situation, we’ve been working from home for quite a long time. It could be your office work, or the online classes. So, why don’t we decorate our sweet home little differently? Moreover, monsoon may become monotonous sometimes. Small changes may break that monotony and may keep your spirit up.

Let’s try some simple monsoon decor ideas to make your cosy corners more interesting. Though we always romanticise rainy season, grey sky, wet weather, musty smell make us low-spirited. So, enjoy your steaming cup of coffee and scroll down to see your home transform into a colourful one.

5 Simple Home Decor Tips during Monsoon

1. Make it colourful

Don’t let the dull weather outside affect your room. Incorporate a loads of colours to cut the monotony of the rooms. Start with the cushion covers. You can change the old cushion covers of the living room sofa and use bright colours instead. The vibrant colours like orange, pink, lemon green, yellow are some great options. The same can be done to the curtains, bedsheets, table lamps, wall art etc.
2. Bring the greens:

Buy some indoor plants or cactuses and place them in colourful ceramic pots, or vases. Why don’t you wake up your old creative mind? Did you have a hobby of painting as a child? That hobby might have been ruined under work pressure. It’s time to start again. You can paint old pots to use as flower vases. Believe me, it will give you an extreme happiness.
3. Mirror, mirror!

Do you know, mirror can be a fantastic decor idea to make the dull corners of your rooms bigger and illuminated? You can place a mirror just opposite to a window. The reflection of the mirror will make your room much brighter.
4. Light a candle

Constant showers can leave damp fungi smells. A heavenly scented candle can make you enjoy the pitter patter outside with full spirit. There are a wide range of aromatic candles with inviting floral or woody fragrances. They can uplift your mood in a minute. Fresh flowers, incense sticks also are there to help you liven up your living room, bedroom etc.
5. Play with lights
Concentrate on the dark corners. Only ceiling lights can’t reach to every corners and thus grey sky during this season will create a gloomy ambience. At this floor standing lamps can do the trick. They can create a magical effect in the living room.

Hopefully, you’ll find these decor ideas useful. So, what are you waiting for? Decorate your sweet home now and be happy. If you want to share more ideas, feel free to comment here.

Greens for the monsoons…oh yes! I usually do a batch of re-potting around this time and my house is filled with tiny saplings scattered all around. Many friends and neighbors also get gifted with the plants, cuttings or saplings. I also agree with the smell issue – i burn a fumer with lemongrass or citronella oil every evening and also put in a few drops when I mop. That leaves the house smelling wonderful and free of insects.
