This is because lemon extract contains vitamin C, which is a great antioxidant and spot correction master. It helps to fade dark spots effectively because of its exfoliation and brightening properties. However, you should not use fresh lemon juice directly on your skin, as it can be too intense because of its extremely acidic nature.  However, after discussing with dermatologists you can start using vitamin c face serums.

Ingredients such as green tea, licorice extract, alpha arbutin, glycolic acid, and more work in similar ways as vitamin C (or lemon).

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a great ingredient to have in your spot corrector creams, or even in its natural form. It has a compound known as ‘aloesin’ that works in reducing the hyperpigmented scars or spots left by acne or pimples. This compound decreases the melanin pigment in the dark spots and returns the skin to its natural color. Moreover, aloe vera hydrates the skin very well and keeps it cool, when applied to active acne or irritated skin.

Soy Extract

This ingredient has been used in skin care in China for centuries. Its many benefits include anti-aging, skin brightening, reducing hyperpigmentation or discoloration, and many more. Soy is extracted from the soy plant, which does the spot correction by reducing the collection of melanin pigment on the top surface of the skin. This, in turn, helps in overcoming uneven skin tone and dark spots. Soy extract in skincare products is a good ingredient to have, as it is suitable for all skin types.

Honey

Honey is a versatile and natural ingredient that you might have used in your homemade face masks and whatnot. It is also used in many skin care products in the beauty industry. Well, if it’s not obvious, honey is wonderful when it comes to its many properties for clearing the skin. It is anti-inflammatory, medicinal, and antibacterial, which helps in clearing the dark spots that are left behind by pimples, sun damage, and more.

If you want to go with Ayurvedic and natural products, you might want to look for natural ingredients like honey, lemon, aloe vera, and more, as these work so well for skin moisturization and revitalization, apart from their dark spot corrector qualities.
