Green Tea: Its Benefits on Health, Skin and Hair.

For quite a few months I have started having green tea. Of late I have been diagnosed with Costochondritis which is a bone related disease. And the fact is that it has no medicine. You can only keep it in control with some lifestyle changes, like exercises, proper diet, staying away from stress and anxiety. After my research on this I came to know that green tea is good for bone related diseases. So, despite proper lifestyle, I started drinking this healthy beverage twice daily.

How do I have Green Tea to be healthy:

I always go through simple yet healthy lifestyle. One thing I was guilty of, drinking lots of black tea with milk and sugar. Now, I’m slowly giving up that addiction of mine and incorporating this healthier drink in my daily routine. Usually, I have two cups mixed with honey to complement my sweet teeth. No, I don’t take it in empty stomach. The first cuppa of my daily dose is being taken around 9-9.30 am and the second in the evening.
After one month of this new routine, the first thing I have noticed that it has improved my digestion system. I don’t feel any discomfort or burning sensation in the chest and don’t have to take antacids. After the first sip, I feel very refreshed and charged. Though, I haven’t seen any loss of kilos, yet I haven’t gained any which is very inspiring. Isn’t it? And, I know that for other changes, I have to wait. I have patience bro!

For Skin:

With its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, green tea can offer many good results to your skin in a number of ways. It can protect your skin from UV damages or other environmental hazards, help you get rid of aging, skin irritations or rashes and acne breakouts. You can buy products containing green tea or make your own formulations, like face mists, masks or creams.
Green tea, benefits, uses

Besides using green tea based products, I make face mist or masks at home. Let me share the recipes with you.

Face Mist Recipe:

All you need for this preparation is two tablespoons of green tea brewed in a mug of water and cooled. Now strain it, transfer it into a spray bottle and refrigerate the liquid. Your face mist is ready to use. You can spray whenever you feel or use as a toner after cleansing your face and neck. It can shrink your pores, calm down irritations or redness, balances the excess oil secretion leaving your skin clean and fresh.
This solution can be used as a fantastic remedy for treating acne. Pour the liquid on a crochet pad or soft cloth and apply on the affected area, keep for 10 minutes and wash off. Do this everyday twice to get rid off acne effectively. It will also soothe the inflammation giving you a clear and youthful skin.
This is a natural solution for treating sunburn too. After coming back from your workplace, clean the face properly, mix the solution with aloe vera and apply on your face as a face mask (you can use the liquid alone without mixing with aloe vera). Keep as long as you wish to. Wash off and follow it by your regular moisturizer. You can use this mask everyday. Did I say you can use it as the sleeping mask? This not only soothes your skin, but keeps you relaxed and stress free. Do try and you’ll wake up with a fresh you.

Face Mask Recipe:

After preparing the face mist don’t throw away the damp tea leaves. Mix them with one teaspoon each of honey and aloe vera and one pinch turmeric. Apply on your face, keep for 25-30 minutes and wash off preferably with lukewarm water. Regular use of this mask will help to get rid of fine lines, and give you a glowing, blemish free skin.

For Hair:

Green tea plays a vital role in preventing hair fall, dandruff and treating dry, itchy scalp. Sipping this health drink every day can help you to get beautiful, luscious locks that might be the dream of every person. Topical application of this wonderful plant also helps you getting strong, shiny and silky soft mane.

Hair Rinse:

This is an age old remedy to treat all scalp and hair issues. For this you can take help of the formula I have made for the face mist. Take the liquid in a shower mug and slowly pour on your clean yet damp scalp and hair. Now, massage gently for few seconds and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with plain water. Try to do this twice a week for better results. This is the perfect way to soothe your scalp, treat dandruff and stimulate hair follicles. If you want, you can add honey to the mixture.

Hair Mask:

I’m very much in the Pre-poo treatment of my hair. For that I try different formulations, one of which is a mixture of Green Tea leaves, Hibiscus leaves and flowers and Coconut oil. Cover your head with these preparation, keep for 45 minutes to 1 hour and rinse thoroughly.
So, be healthy and happy with a smile on your face. Thanks for sharing.

I already am aware of Green tea benefits to the body. But wasn't aware of these specifically for skin and hair. Will surely try these recipes. Also tell me if the green tea older than years works or should we throw them and buy a new one?
