If you regularly visit my Instagram account, you might know how much I love powder cleansers. Why powder cleansers? Because, besides cleansing, they act as mild exfoliating agents without being harsh. Even the people with hyper sensitive skin like me will love them. They contain all naturally derived ingredients like rice powder, oats, rose petals to provide gentle texture without harsh grit. Also these cleansers can travel everywhere in carry-ons, travel pouches. They take more time to stay fresh than their liquid counterparts.
Basically I use powder cleansers from Skincarevilla Shop who is a pro in this field. But, this time I am going to talk about Foaming Cleansing Grains from Soapstories India, another favorite brand of mine. I use their handmade soaps and they are lovely. That’s why when Madhu, the brain behind Soapstories India sent me the product I became so happy and started using at once. After using for quite a long time (at least 3 weeks), I think I can give you the right feedback. Well, let’s start with the review.
Cleansing Grains – Hibiscus and Pomegranate:
Naturally rich in Antioxidants and Aha’s, it cleanses, exfoliates and brightens skin, leaving it soft and glowing. Suitable for Normal, Dull, Tired skin types.
Hibiscus: The botanical best known for its ability to deliver youthful complexion. It helps to purify skin, removes age spots, leaving skin soft and smooth.
Pomegranate: This anti aging plant being rich in antioxidants, protects skin from free radicals. It helps in cell regeneration process, keeping wrinkles at bay. Pomegranate is a great skin detoxifier that makes skin healthy and also treats sun – damaged skin.
Hibiscuis Flower, Pomegranate Extract, Strawberry Extract, Coconut Milk, Pink Clay, Alovera Extract, Vitamin b3 and more.
How to Use:
Activate the powder with liquid of your choice. I add hydrosols or rosewater. Add plenty of liquid to make a smooth paste. Massage gently in circular motion and rinse off. It can be used as face mask.
You can customize the cleanser as your choice or skin type. If you like gentle cleanser, or softer, smoother lather add more water. I suggest this especially to sensitive skin persons. But if you want thick paste for exfoliating you need to add less liquid.
Price: INR 300 for 50 gms. Available here.
The pink colored powder comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a white screw cap under which she has provided a protective cap. Brand also provides glass bottles. But I prefer plastic ones as they remain handy and safe to use. Also carrying plastic bottles is easy without any fear of breakage.
As powder cleansers best work as the second cleanse, I use it every evening post makeup removal. It gives an immediate brightening effect (thanks to its exfoliating properties). The cleanser creates a velvety smooth lather that draws out impurities, leaving skin soft and supple. It doesn’t make my skin feel dry.
How do I use:
For simple cleansing, I take 2 teaspoons of powder and add hydrosol to activate. But, when I want deep exfoliation, take one more teaspoon of powder and add less liquid. Then apply the paste on my face and neck and keep for 1 or 2 minutes. As it’s a foaming cleanser, I spray a great amount of water to form the lather. And wash off to get a brighter skin. After each cleansing I feel refreshed. After a whole hectic day I really appreciate its soothing and refreshing impact on my skin. It buffs away all pollutants I gather every day from the outside environment. Thanks to Soapstories India.
Overall, I am happy with the results. I recommend this to anyone who wants a brighter and clearer face with the help of a cleanser.
