Review of Two Oil-based Cleansers|ft Greenie Mill.

Cleansers, oil based, clean, fresh, acne

A cleanser is one of the fundamentals of a skincare ritual. We must cleanse our face at the beginning and end of the day to get our moisturizers work properly. Our face is exposed to a lot of tortures every day. Make-up, sun rays, pollution, touching the face with dirty hands are the biggest enemies of our skin. But, we can’t avoid them. Here, cleansers comes to rescue.

Cleansing (read double cleansing) helps us to remove dirt and pollutants, make-up, our SPF, dead skin cells and makes the skin ready for the next steps. That’s why I purchase many cleansing agents (oil-based and water-based) to keep my double cleansing ritual on point.

Recently I have purchased two oil-based cleansers from one of my favorite brands Greenie Mill. One is their Calendula and Lavender gentle cleansing oil and the other is Hemp and Tamanu gel to milk cleanser. Let’s talk about these two products now.

Cleansing, oil based, glowing, acne

This oil-based gel cleanser transforms into a milky lotion on contact with water and leaves the skin soft, supple and nourished. Made with 100% natural ingredients, this oil to milk cleanser is safe to use every day. The product is vegan and cruelty free.

How to use:

Take the required amount of oily gel and gently massage it all over your face until your entire make-up, dirt, and grime dissolve into the oil. Leave it for about a minute and then splash some water and massage the milky cleanser all over your face to dissolve water-soluble makeup and dirt. Rinse your face and pat dry. You can use it twice daily for well-nourished skin.

My Experience:

I love its lightweight formula that is not greasy. I’ve been using this for quite a long time and am really happy how effectively it makes my skin super clean and soft. I always double cleanse and this oil to milk cleanser is my first cleanse. Just add some water and foams up to the milk. I can see it breaking up the layers of make-up and my regular sunscreen. It doesn’t cause breakouts, nor does it irritate my skin.

Packaging is also very user-friendly. The sturdy plastic bottle with a pump opening, dispenses the right amount of product. In a plus, a little goes a long way. One can carry the bottle anywhere in a small purse. That’s why it’s becoming my companion to every trip. I love the sweet smell that’s not at all overpowering, yet very refreshing. My combination and sensitive skin loves this product.

This gentle cleansing oil is the great addition to my skincare regime. It has a right consistency, neither so thick, nor runny. I take only two pumps as the first step of my nighttime double cleansing routine. I don’t have to do excessive rubbing to remove my liquid liner or waterproof mascara. I apply on dry face and leave it for 2 minutes to give adequate time to get rid of all debris from my skin. Then add some water, massage gently and remove every thing with a crochet pad. It leaves skin hydrated, soft and fresh.

My Experience:

I love this gentle gel that turns into a milky cleanser with water. As a makeup remover, I apply it on my dry face. After leaving the gel for 2 minutes, I spray water and massage for a few seconds to get rid of all traces of makeup. It definitely clear up my skin, keeping it smooth.

Before saying more about the product, I want to say something about the packaging. This cleanser also comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with pump dispenser. The packaging makes the product easy to use, but it’s somehow kinda tricky that makes it messy if you want to carry this in your purse.

The silky gel smells like the herbs it contains. Somehow I don’t like (my personal choice, one may like it). The smell vanishes after washing off though. Nicely suits my hyper sensitive skin. I haven’t noticed any irritations or greasyness. Every month, during the pre-menstrual phase, I noticed some painful red bumps popping up. After using this for one and half months, I noticed them reducing. And this month I have seen them coming in a very small size and goes away the next day. It works well on my blackheads, especially on the tip of my nose. That area is completely clean now.

It helps my skin get rid of all the harmful effects from the outside environment. The gel to milk cleanser doesn’t even strip of the natural oils while cleansing, instead keeps skin hydrated and soft.

You might have excited to know which one Is better according to me. I feel Calendula and Lavender gentle cleansing oil is better and I am going to repurchase it. My criteria for choosing this is its texture, smell, efficacy and obviously the packaging. But, I am keeping Hemp and Tamanu gel to milk cleanser as my acne treatment product.

  1. I liked Greenie Mill Calendula and Lavender coz it has calendula in it. I am a homeopathic doctor & we have few medicine made up of calendula which is very effective.

So, I can try this product.

  2. Greenmill is probably a new brand. I use miceller water for my sensitive skin. Hope this cleanser would work on my skin.

  3. Calendula and lavender are both my fav fragrances and since it’s oil based, my dry skin will be happy.
